Eat Healthy keep Active.

Remember eating healthy does not mean eating boring foods, a large selection of foods are available for healthy eating
Try and eat regular and often don't miss meal times. Also try and eat around the same time every day, this can help you monitor you sugar levels easier.
Keep an eye on your carbohydrate intake; too many carbs can also lead to high sugar levels.

Cut down on sugar.
Consumption of sweet products can cause a rapid rise in sugar levels, things to avoid are:-
Fizzy Drinks look for diet or no added sugar drink
Avoid using sugar in tea or coffee, use sweeteners instead, there is a large range available and they can taste just as good as the real thin
Cut down on sweet things like, biscuits, cakes, chocolate_ s, sweets, jams and marmalade, look out for no added sugar products. Or products sweetened with sweeteners instead of sugar.

You should try and eat:-
Vegetables, fruit and salad, try and eat around 5 portions a day, this can easily be achieved with a good variety, and some fruits can have a natural amount of sugar and may raise blood sugar levels.
Try to eat at least one starchy food at each meal, Breakfast cereals (try to avoid those containing, potatoes, bread, rice and pasta are all good sources of starch and these provide a slow rise in sugar level
Eat fish more than once a week this is a good source of protein and can be grilled or oven baked instead of frying, also try and eat oily fish like tuna.
Remember Fruit is a natural source of Sugar

Try and cut down on:-
All fatty foods, use low fat spreads, try and grill foods instead of frying or try and microwave, roast or bake foods more often.

Keep Active
Daily activities can help keep sugar levels under control, short walks are a good way of keeping active, if you take part in strenuous exercise care should be taken as this can rapidly lower your blood sugar levels, you must discuss this with your doctor or diabetic nurse before continuing this sort of activity.

Monitor you weight regularly to help ensure you are obtaining a good calorie intake.
